Ed's got a mistress

When Ed got a mistress, he gradually began to feel that his wife Karin didn't know how to dress, let alone cook, didn't have a nice figure and was boring, superficial, and obnoxious.

This sudden discovery was seemingly based on truth. Especially since Karin had given birth to three children, didn't usually wear lingerie to bed after many years of marriage, her dinners didn't consist of five courses like dinners with Erika at fancy restaurants, and she certainly hadn't thought to buy Ed a pair of Christmas boxers with the seven dwarfs on them, and she definitely hadn't broached the subject of Kama Sutra instead of who was going to take the kids to kindergarten tomorrow and to their clubs in the afternoon.

Ed began to feel almost suffocated at home and think about how he would like his divorce to go. Ideally, Karin herself would bring up the fact that she has noticed how much Ed suffers at home, would understand that the main and only reason is her imperfection, and would therefore suggest that he move in with a better woman, which he deserves because of his qualities. She would ask him to come see the kids as he saw fit, just whenever. She would lovingly do his laundry and ironing for the last time, and then carefully stack his belongings in his suitcase, hug him, kiss him, and walk him to the door with the assurance that he was the best and the man of her life, and therefore, if he changed his mind, if perhaps his mistress didn't fulfill his expectations or treated him poorly in any way, he could return to her open arms, anytime.

However, he feared that he might be forced to abandon such an idea and gradually started to think of a realistic solution. Before he could take the necessary steps, to his surprise, his vision began to become a reality.

Karin did actually come to see how much Ed was suffering at home, even remarking that the main and only reason was her imperfection, and therefore she herself suggested that he should immediately and freely move in with a mistress who would appreciate him. There was indeed a heartfelt goodbye at the door over packed suitcases, but instead of a promise of lasting fidelity, she informed him not to return, as his house slippers, which Ed intended to keep at home just in case, would be worn by a certain Hugo, who she said would actively champion the amorous side of the relationship that Ed had deliberately neglected and who would help run the household, but would certainly not agree to Ed ever stopping by, let alone returning.

As for the children, Karin decided that Ed would pick up all three of them from school that day, since she had packed their belongings in his suitcases, take them to his mistress's house, and she would drop by anytime to see how well they were being cared for.
